This course facilitates entry level training for Phlebotomy Technicians or those seeking the medical training necessary to pursue the knowledge and skills necessary to perform in a medical laboratory environment. Through this training, students will gain the confidence and knowledge needed in the art of obtaining blood samples through repeated venipuncture, hands-on practice and instructor feed-back. Students are provided instruction on collecting, transporting, and processing of blood specimens, communication, medical terminology, safety and precautions for blood specimen collection, factors that may affect specimen collection, quality control, professional behaviorism, inflectional control and the legal aspects for the phlebotomy practice. The externship portion of the program is an opportunity for students to competently and safely transfer classroom theory into practice with instructor guidance and supervision.

Program Entrance Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • No felonies 
  • Tuberculosis /PPD test
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed statement declining vaccination
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association BLS certification (will be offered during the class for an additional fee if needed)

Installment Payment Plan is Available: Registration fee, books & materials fee, criminal history check fee due at registration.  Remaining balance paid weekly in even installments during the course.  Balance must be paid in full by graduation.
