Certified Medication Aide

Hours: 68 (48 classroom/skills lab hours & 20 clinical hours)

Catalog description:
This nursing journeyman course prepares the student to administer medication to patients and prepares the student for the State Certification Examination to become a Certified Medication Aide.  CMA's will be qualified to work in assisted living facilities and adult group homes.

Course goals:
At the end of this course the student will be able to:

  • Administer medication to patients.
  • Pass the State Certification Examination to become a Certified Medication Aide.

 Minimum Requirements for Admission: 

  1. High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalency Exam (for those educated outside of the United States)
  2. Proof of NA, CNA or PCA completion
  3. Clean Urine Drug Screening
  4. Satisfactory Criminal Background Check
  5. Successful Interview Process
  6. Space Available
  7. Payment of Deposit (once you are accepted)
